There are generally underlying generic factors that can lead to an imbalance in the absorption of certain vitamins and minerals. These imbalances have a direct influence on how our neurotransmitters function. By understanding how a particular person's gut is functioning, we can address any imbalances by using an individualised programme of natural minerals, vitamins and supplements.

Children with Neurodevelopmental delays, particularly autism, have a variety of underlying challenges:

  • Digestion

  • Detoxification

  • Immune System

These all affect the foods that they are able to tolerate.

We are aligned with several qualified Nutritional therapists - depending on the client's requirements, we direct them to the consultant that fits them best. We will then be in correspondence with the therapist, so that we work with that client as one unit.

Research from Derek McFabe  - discovered a build up of  propionic acid in the guts of rats made them  obsessed with objects rather than being  sociable with other rats.

The Role of the Gut

Inflammation and bacterial overgrowth in the gut can impair the ability of the brain to fully repair and function properly. The gut feeds the brain. The majority of the chemicals required to develop and maintain the brain are developed in the gut. In 98% of children diagnosed with ADHD their zinc to copper ratio was out of balance.

A well-rounded organic diet does not mean that your particular gut is able to absorb the vitamins and minerals required from these foods. Creating a balanced gut can lead to better emotional/behavioural regulation.

Please Note: These are not medical interventions and we are not medically trained.

Our experience shows that our clients have experienced improvements in social, emotional, behavioural or academic performance following our sensory therapies. However we do not claim to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, medical condition or any other physical or mental disorder and always recommend that clients consult their medical practitioners as appropriate and do their own research before commencing any of our therapies.
